Missing You

I showed you a card earlier this week using the ne Fillable Frames #2 set where I made a cutout in the card front and stmaped through that to the inside of the card.  Here is what I used the piece that I cut out for

I stamped the polka dots in vintage cream and used red for the sentiment to make it really pop.  I also got to use my new ric-rac die.  This time I just cut paper, but I can see using this on all kinds of fabrics too!

Thinking of You

I got my latest PTI order in the mail on Friday but just had a chance to play with it today.  I spent most of the weekend helping set up for a friend's wedding.

This is a CASE of one of the cards Heather made when she previewed Fillable Frames #2

I loved the unique way she used the matching die ... to make a cutout in the card front instead of making an embellishment to go on the front.

I also used the poppies from  Remember to add a little pop of color to the front.

Thanks for stopping by!

Birds of a Feather

I'm not a big fan of birds ... never have been.  Now that birds are trendy, I'm trying to put aside my lack of liking and try some things out.  I made this card with the new bird punch from SU! (I borrowed it from a friend because, well I dont like birds ... I might be buying it now though - it was a positive bird experience :) )

This card is for an upcoming class:
Its kind of springy because its birds and all, but I really like its simplicity, for all that it took a while to put together ...

...I  was playing with different patterns on the bird and the wing - solid body, patterned wing is where I ended up, mainly because of the large patterned paper piece behind the focal medallion.

And I  really like this sentiment from Vintage Vogue.

Thanks for stopping by!

Signs of Spring

I think Spring has finally sprung - here in Iowa anyway. Out East, my sister is buried under 2 feet of snow [and on my niece's birthday too :'( ].  But I am trying to think happy thoughts so maybe the spring will stick around!

I got a "happy thoughts" card froma  friend in the mail a week or so ago - all bright and cheery - and so I used that as my inspiration for this card

I searched and searched for my vase stamps (and began kicking myself for not getting Asian Fusion when I had the chance!) but couldn't find them.  So I started looking through all the other stamps I had ... surely something could double as a vase.  What I ended up using was a solid Christmas ornament stamp from Vintage Ornaments.  Without the hanger loop on it looks kinda like a vase (or a pink hershey kiss according to my kids ;)

I printed the sentiment from my computer using the Gigi font that comes standard with Word.  It comes pretty close to the original card, and I love all its loopiness

Thanks for stopping by!
