Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger

I don't normally get to play on this challenge because I don't often get a lot of weekday stamping time.  But unfortunately Cath Edvalson who runs Moxie Fab World is on medical leave and the challenge stayed open longer than normal.  Sorry to hear Cath is under the weather but it does give me the opportunity to play along.

Here's my take on the Tuesday Trigger:

I originally started out with trying to recreate the pattern in the inspiration photo but after cutting and gluing 17000 leafy vines and it still looked terrible I decided to take another track :)  I die cut the leafy vine border from Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point, Riding Hood Red, Not Quite Navy and Sahara Sand card stocks (all SU!).  I used a glue pen to adhere them to a white card base then die cut 2 frames from Simply Jane (PTI)  I stamped the oval frame in chocolate chip then used the white center and stamped a sentiment, the vase and flowers form Gracious Vases.

I colored in the flowers using blender pens and Sahara Sand and Pacific Point ink.

Thanks for stopping!

Moxie Fab: Tuesday Trigger

I was so inspired by this week's Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger that I wanted to recreate the image ... lucky for me I have stamps for that :)

The image just felt so fresh and springy I wanted to continue that theme.  I started with a soft stone card base and added a piece of crumb cake CS distressed with Fresh Snow ink.  I stamped the jar then masked and stamped various medallions from Giga Guidelines.  The butterflies are from Bliss, a Sale-a-Bration set from SU!

I love this sentiment from Fillable Frames #8 ... all the FF sets are so versatile, because hey, you can never have enough sentiments!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Moxie Fab - Shabby Chic

Seeing all the different styles on the Papercrafts blogs this week made me want to try a shabby chic card ... I'm still not sure I completely get the style, but I like how the card turned out

I first embossed the bottom layer with the new Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder from SU! ... doesn't it just set the tone for the whole card!.  Then I stamped the Linen background stamp (SU! retired) on the sentiment layer, stamped the sentiment and shelf.  I added pearls after going through the Card Style mystery blog hop and seeing that as a part of the shabby style (check out the blog hop starting at Moxie Fab World)

The flowers was made by die cutting the Newsprint DSP, spritzing with Pretty In Pink and using this tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers

I used a Labels 1 nestie to die cut the Newsprint DSP layer. I also stamped a Vintage Label stamp to border it and distressed it with Antique Linen distressing ink and sewed on  some vintage lace (thanks Rachel!)

So how'd I do on a shabby chic card?

Thanks for stopping by!

Moxie Fab - Clean & Graphic

To celebrate the new publication Card Style, Moxie Fab World is having a daily style challenge.  The next one in line for me is Clean & Graphic.  Check out the deets and play along, why dontcha!

Here is my entry:

I so love the look of the hand-drawn frame, but when I was making this one I just couldn't for the life of me get a good, clean straight line!  So I opted for a lot of layers to create the same look with paper.

I used the Argyle Impression Plate to get that textured background and my new Kimono Kids stamp set from SU! for the string of paper lanterns.  I used various Reds and yellow (and yellow-red) Copic Sketch markers to color the lanterns in for a color pop.  I also used a white gel pen to color in the dots on the far right lantern.

Thanks for stopping by!

{Supplies - all SU! unless noted}
Stamps: Kimono Kids; Fillable Frames #5 (sentiment) [PTI]
Paper: White, Basic Black
Ink: True Black [PTI]
Colors: YR12, YR15, YR18, YR07, YR09, R24, R27, R29, R59, Y35 [Copic]; White gel pen [Signo]
Other: Argyle Impression Plate [PTI]; Big Shot [Sizzix];

Moxie Fab - Fun & Cute

I made this card for the Moxie Fab World Fun and Cute Challenge

You should play along .. just follow the link above -  Cath has all the directions there for you!

For my quick, fun cute card I decided to also make it rather minimal.  I cut the layer using Mat Stack 1 die out of The Boyfriend collection (that sounds kinda bad unless you know I'm talking about paper :))

I used Round and Round stamp set for the medallion ... coloring the images in with a Real Red and Always Artichoke marker.  I also colored the flower blossoms with a Spica clear glitter pen to give them some sparkle.

I stamped the sentiment in Fresh Snow and used a white gel pen and ruler for the lines.  I was going to box the focal image but liked the clean look of just the line so I left it that way

Thanks for stopping by!
